En esa fecha, el locutor William Harlan Hale dijo en alem谩n las primeras palabras escuchadas a trav茅s de la VOA : Aqu铆 habla una voz desde Am茅rica. Todos los d铆as, a esta hora, le traeremos noticias de la guerra. Las noticias pueden ser buenas. Las noticias pueden ser malas. Nosotros le diremos la verdad.  Esta primera emisi贸n de la VOA a Europa fue hecha con transmisores de onda larga y media de la BBC. Anterior a esta fecha, el gobierno estadounidense hab铆a creado en 1941 el Foreign Information Service (FIS) para la producci贸n de programas para Europa y Asia transmitidos por estaciones de onda corta privadas ubicadas en Estados Unidos.1 En junio de 1942, la VOA emit铆a en 27 idiomas.
